PokerStars New Jersey’s NJSCOOP back for fifth straight year

PokerStars will be running the New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP) for the fifth year in a row, and this year’s event is expected to be the biggest one yet. Every year since the debut of the NJSCOOP it has expanded, and the upcoming edition will have a guaranteed prize pool of $1.2 million. It will run from April 11-27 and feature 48 events, with each having a high and low buy-in option for a total of 96 tournaments.

The schedule is much the same as past NJSCOOPs but with more tourneys than last year’s 82. The Main Event will take place over two days and will start on April 26. The high buy-in for the Main Event is $300 with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000, while the low buy-in is $50 with a $30,000 kitty.

All other events will have a low buy-in that is 10% of the high buy-in. For example, the NLHE – Nightly Stars – NJSCOOP Warm-Up on April 11 has a high buy-in of $100 and a low buy-in of $10.

Most of the NJSCOOP events will be no-limit hold’em tournaments in various formats. The events for the NLHE will have short-handed tournaments as well as full rings. They will be played at different paces, such as Hyper-Turbo and Marathon; have different starting stacks, such as Deepstack events, Zoom and Win the Button; and there will be a few Progressive Knockout events.

There will be six pot-limit Omaha events including a PLO hi-lo and a five-card PLO. Also, there will be a no-limit Omaha hi-lo event with an eight-game mix, as well as a seven-card stud hi-lo event.

New Jersey poker players should watch for satellite tournaments where they can win entry into NJSCOOP events. The players should also keep a keen eye out for various PokerStars New Jersey promotions for the NJSCOOP.

Every day through April 26, which is the second-last day of the NJSCOOP, there will be Special Edition $3 Spin & Go tourneys where Main Event tickets can be won. The $9K Main Event Depositor Freeroll on April 26 will award 30 seats for the $300 High Main Event.

Even players that do not win any money playing in NJSCOOP events will have the opportunity to win. In each day where the series takes place, there will be a Daily $1K Second Chance All-In Shootout Freerolls event specifically for players that entered into the tournaments and busted out before payouts.
