Fanduel sign on as Major League Baseball (MLB) licensed betting brand

Major League Baseball (MLB) and Fanduel Group have announced the third gambling deal in the sports’s history, naming Fanduel as an Authorized Gaming Operator of the baseball league. The Flutter Entertainment (Paddy Power) owned FanDuel joins DraftKings and MGM Resorts as authorized gambling brands.

Fanduel Group, who operate New Jersey licensed sportsbook Fanduel NJ, will have access to all the official MLB data to help provide accurate gambling markets. The access to real time data and stats will allow Fanduel to offer real time live betting and in play baseball betting options.

Fanduel will also have licensed access to all MLB league, brands, team marks and logos for use on Fanduel’s online sports betting products and at retail betting locations.

Kip Levin, President & COO of FanDuel Group said “Fantasy sports and sports betting have become a national pastime in their own right, so it’s natural to join forces with Major League Baseball.

“MLB clearly understands how working together can be beneficial for baseball fans and both companies alike.” he said.

Kenny Gersh, MLB Executive Vice President of Gaming & New Business Ventures said “FanDuel has proven itself to be a leader in the sports betting space and has shifted a step ahead again through its commitment to, and recognition of, the value in being an authorized gaming operator.

“Now having access to our official sports betting data feeds and MLB brands, we’re looking forward to the creative sports betting and fan experience innovations FanDuel will develop.

“Baseball is one of the most popular sports to bet on and partnering with MLB allows us to make the betting experience even better for our customers,” continued Levin. “With an enhanced betting experience, sports fans are watching more baseball as they have a stake in the game.” he said.

New Jersey is one of the most progressive states when it comes to sports betting, with deals like this having greater ramifications in this region than in other USA states, because of the regulated retail and online wagering options.
