The Hard Rock Hotel Casino in Atlantic City recently became the first casino in the world to offer live slots. Launched on Monday, February 10, the “ground-breaking innovative technology” is a partnership between Hard Rock and Softweave Ltd.
The live slots studio allows customers to play land-based slot machines via the Hard Rock online casino app. The studio features 12 slot machines, all of which are housed on-site in a locked room at Hard Rock Atlantic City.
Kresimir Spajic, the senior vice president of online gaming and sports betting at Hard Rock International, said in a press conference, “We are excited to introduce an entirely new way to play floor favorites without being there. With live slots, you can control real, physical slot machines located at Hard Rock Atlantic City from anywhere in New Jersey using your PC, Mac, tablet or mobile device. It is a first-of-its-kind experience unavailable anywhere else on the planet.”
Hard Rock customers can choose from a variety of popular land-based slots titles, such as:
• Leprecoins
• Buffalo, Spitfire Multipliers
• Hotter than Blaze
• 3x4x4x Double Times Pay
There may be a wait to play the live slots games, like there would be for land-based slots at a casino. If a slots game is being played, the play button is shaded in grey and players that are waiting will be notified when the game is free. There is a delay of one second from when you push the spin button to when the reels begin to spin.
The Hard Rock Atlantic City casino opened one week before the Hard Rock casino app went live on July 3, 2018. Last year the company posted $22.5 million in online gambling revenue. That included $2.2 million for December 2019, which is a year-on-year increase of 67%.
There are three brands that operate under Hard Rock’s New Jersey casino license: Hard Rock Online Casino, Bet365 New Jersey Casino and Unibet New Jersey.
Back in 2016, Golden Nugget unveiled the first live dealer studio and had no competition in that sector for a year and a half. The Hard Rock is hoping to follow that blueprint with its live slots studio.
“Our brand is much more well known. You could argue that we have the nicest property in the state,” said Spajic.
“We are the only place in town with live slots. We think this is going to be a big difference.”
