Not only are Atlantic City casinos and New Jersey online sportsbooks thriving, but so are the customers at the Garden State’s online and land-based casinos. In the first month and a half of 2020, New Jersey casino slot players won over $10 million.
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) collects data for slot jackpots that are over $50,000 at the state’s land-based and online casinos. The report was updated on February 15 and showed that there were 71 winners of jackpots over $50,000 and one winning well over a million.
Also, 20 lucky players won slot jackpots to the tune of six figures in the first few weeks of 2020. Of those 20 players, three of them won jackpots that were over $500,000. At Bally’s Casino on January 19, a slots player on the Wheel of Fortune title played the one-cent slot and walked away with a jackpot of $2.5 million.
Bally’s had the most payouts for slots jackpots among Atlantic City casinos, shelling out more than $3 million. Borgata paid out over $2.8 million for players at its land-based and online casinos.
Here are the combined figures for retail and online slots play:
• Bally’s: $3.1 million
• Borgata: $2.8 million
• Caesars: $1.1 million
• Resorts: $668,268
• SugarHouse: $608,550
• Tropicana: $462,015
• Golden Nugget: $345,099
• Ocean Casino: $298,766
• BetMGM: $197,457
• Hard Rock: $194,310
• Harrah’s: $192,454
• Mohegan Sun: $175,824
• DraftKings: $82,326
The Divine Fortune slots game has been in the news recently with several players coming away happy campers. In the first six weeks of this year, the game had a jackpot win of over $50,000 or more on six occasions and the total paid out for those jackpots was $643,499. The slot machine that paid out the most was Wheel of Fortune. That is not surprising since that was the game where the $2.5 million jackpot was hit and, on top of that, Bally’s paid out $424,297 to a player on that game.
Other slot titles that had big payouts for the first six weeks of 2020 were:
• Game King Double-Double Bonus Poker: $1,680,000
• Top Dollar: $316,200
• Triple Double Diamond: $386,000
The results of the data from the DGE did not have any jackpots that were over $50,000 from the new live slots at the Hard Rock online casino. While Hard Rock did have two slot payouts of over $50,000, they were not won on the live online games. The Hard Rock live slots were launched on February 11 and the report was updated only a few days later.
