While the Atlantic City casinos remain closed, there are still many online poker tournaments for New Jersey players to enjoy. WSOP.com, PartyPoker, and PokerStars are three New Jersey online poker sites that are offering a wide range of tournaments in May. The events cover all skill levels and bankrolls, so New Jersey poker players have many options.
WSOP.com tournaments for May 2020
WSOP has the $100K Daily Guaranteed Tournament promotion, which began on May 5 and is held every day at 5pm EST. The tournaments will only take place as long as 500 players have registered. When that mark is not met, the promotion will end. In the first tournament of the promotion on May 5, there were 483 players and 259 rebuys, for 742 total entries, and the next two days of tournaments had around 575 initial players each, not including rebuys.
The buy-in for the $100K Daily promo is $215 and the top 20% of the field is paid out. There are several satellite tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $5-$25 where the winners will receive a seat at the main event.
WSOP.com is also offering a $100K Sunday Tournament for May 17 and May 24 at 6pm EST. The buy-in is $320, but players can win seats via satellite tournaments and freerolls.
Two Player Appreciation Tournaments are also being held on the 17th and the 24th of this month, each with a $100 buy-in. They take place at 4pm EST and the top 20% of the field will be paid out. There will be a random draw in the two tournaments where 20 players will receive payouts of up to $500 no matter how they finished.
PokerStars May 2020 tournaments
There are quite a few tournaments offered every day at PokerStars New Jersey, but the biggest are saved for Sunday. There are five daily tournaments that make up the Sunday Majors, which all have big prize pools. The Sunday Special and the Sunday High Roller tournaments have the highest prize pools and the highest buy-ins as well. The Sunday Storm tournament has a solid prize pool but a lower buy-in.
May 2020 PartyPoker tournaments
The PartyPoker World Poker Tour (WPT) will be played on the virtual felt this year. There are 40 tournaments in the schedule, including mini-tournaments, high-stakes events and everything in between. The series of online poker tournaments runs through May 20, the overall guaranteed prize pool is $30 million, and the buy-ins range from $55 to $25,500.
