On November 12, Evolution Gaming received approval from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) to expand their live dealer casino studio to 5,386 square feet. That is over 3,100 square feet larger than their previous studio, this according to a notice from the gaming supplier.

The notice said that with the expansion there will be 26 new “internet table games” available. In those new tables there will be a Money Wheel, a Side Bet City table, as well as 24 tables for live dealer blackjack. It was not pinpointed in the notice how many tables are currently in the Live Casino Studio, which was launched in 2018 with 10 tables.
According to a recent press release, Evolution was looking to expand their studio right after it launched.
Evolution Gaming CEO Martin Carlesund said: “Now we have a fantastic Live Casino studio in New Jersey — with a wide choice of live games from day one, and ample room for expansion and the rapid ramping up of services to meet our new US licensees’ needs. We are now extremely well placed to support our licensees as they acquire and grow market share in the exciting new US Live Casino market.”
The DGE has stated that Hard Rock Atlantic City will be dealing with all of the security for the live studio. The new studio is located where the old Trump Taj Mahal used to be and before it can begin operation there will be an inspection performed. Earlier this month the studio was shown off through Evolution Gaming’s YouTube channel.
The recent expansion of Evolution’s studio reflects that live dealer casino games are doing well. Live dealer games have been popular in Europe for several years, but it was not until August 2016 that they debuted at New Jersey online casinos. This is three years after online casino gambling was legalized in the state. The first online casino to offer live games was the Golden Nugget NJ from their partnership with Ezugi, a software provider that was bought out by Evolution Gaming in November 2018.
Revenue figures for online live casino games are not released by the DGE. Other data that is not released is the split between live and digital table games at online casinos, as well as slot games online.
Pennsylvania recently approved Evolution Gaming to operate live casino games in the Keystone State. Evolution partnered up with Flutter Entertainment, which will be the new owner of the reputable Stars Group, in October of this year.
